Seeking details of William Louden & Janet (M.S. McLuckie), parents of Catherine Loudon, born 1794. She married William WALKER, Pastry Baker, on 21 May 1815 in Glasgow.

ScotlandsPeople has their marriage on 19th May 1783 at Kippen (Stirling).  His surname is spelled Lowden.

Ah - now I see it. In those days, spellings of names varied. I didn't think to try Lowden. Thanks very much! I got their names from their daughter's birth entry. Thanks to you, I have their marriage.

The marriage is  perhaps also showing in Kilmadock, Perthshire 3 May 1783, suggesting they were of different parishes. Doing a search on family search brings up a number of possible siblings - Janet, Robert, Margaret and Marjery born in Kilmadock, surname showing as Lowden. Also a Jean, George and John in Glasgow, surname showing as Loudoun.

Only two deaths showing on SP with mother's maiden name of McLuckie. Catherine's you very likely have in 1878 and one entry for a Jane Loudon in 1865 in Glasgow. No age given on the index.

Thank you for all your help! Yes, they came from different parishes - she was from Kippen & he Kilmadock, hence Banns read in both. That's a great help.

The 1865 death for Jane Loudon mmn McLuckie found by Monica has the other surname Mayne. There is a marriage of a James Main and a Jane Loudon 15 June 1819 , Gorbals and births of a Jane Mayne and a William Gray Mayne, with parents James Mayne and Jane Loudon in respectively 1832 and 1836. ( A public tree has this Jane Loudon as the Jean Loudon b 8 June 1797, parents William Loudon and Janet McLuckie but the death cert would have to be viewed to confirm this.)
