Mother's name Bede
« on: Thursday 03 March 22 23:09 GMT (UK) »
I've found a female Bede; it's shown as the mum's name on a baptismal record, then in the 1841 census where it says she was born in Ireland.

The likeliest burial I can find is for a Bridget. So can Bede be a shortened form of Bridget?

I don't really know, however google tells me that Brighid is pronounced "breed" or "breej" in the Irish language. So it certainly sounds possible.
