Help please with burial Kirkburton
« on: Monday 07 March 22 17:27 GMT (UK) »
Hi,
I believe that there is the following record:

Burial for Edward Nobles or Gawthorp 1708 in Kirkburton; I don't know exact date

I have tried to find in on Ancestry, but have failed, as I think that some of 1708 is missing.
Please, is there anyone who might have eg access to FindMyPast etc., (as I think it might be there), and would be kind enough to look and see the details?

Thanks,

Kit

It is on Find My Past and is the most dreadful image.

It says something like;

Edward son of Edward Nobles ? of Gawthorp...... Kirkburton buried from home...

(date was 21 5 1708).

If someone else could look at this entry they may be able to transcribe it better than I can. There is no age, unless one of the illegible symbols is an age.
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

Thank you Comberton and Pennines very much for your kind replies.

I think that May 1708 was part of 1708 that was missing, so no wonder I couldn't find it.
I know that the writing is dreadful, with some of the records around this time, illegible, but as far as I know, there wasn't a Gawthorp in Kirkburton, but I may well be totally wrong.
So, I'm even more puzzled!

But thanks again to you both for your tremendous kindness, which I really do appreciate,
Kit

Hi Bee, Marmalady and Pennines,
Thank you all so much for your kind help, especially as I know that what the writing is like!
I think that at least we know what the father's was, which has been a huge help.
Thanks again,
Kit
