I was lucky with that one - my Dad had a friend named Rees and I had a teacher called Rhys but he pronounced it as Rice, so all options covered

No sign of David as yet  but this is a possible for Mary Roberts:

Mary b. 28 April  and bpt 6 May 1763 to Richard and Mary. Richard was a farmer. Abode - Banhadle* same place as Mary in 1781 (above)

David and Mary  could be following a traditional naming convention -

 first daughter - Mary
second son - Richard. 

If this is the case then David's parents should be :
second daughter - Jane
first son - David
