William Milne 1862 to ?? Aberdeenshire, Scotland

I'm looking for help with my 2nd great grandfather, William Milne

He was born on 14th January 1862 at Corskellie, Aberdeenshire, Scotland
I have him on the 1871 & 1881 Census at Peterhead, Aberdeenshire, Scotland
He was a stone cutter/polisher
He married Mary Ann Stuart in 1880 in Peterhead, Aberdeenshire Scotland.
They had 3 children that I know of, the last being born in 1884.

After that I cant find him. No Census records and no death record,

Any ideas where I can look next?

I note the marriage you mention, what was his mothers maiden name?

What were the names of their three children?

Where were wife and children in 1891?  Does her status read married or widowed or?

Many granite workers from the Peterhead area moved to Barre in Vermont, USA, to work in the industry there. It is perhaps worth checking an American census or passenger lists.

Mary Ann and 3 children appear in 1891 and 1901 Census in Peterhead, but Mary is widowed in the latter. Perhaps her death certificate will indicate something of William.

Ref. Aberdeen’s People’s Journal 1899 ‘In loving memory of my dear husband William Milne who died Barre, Vermont, U.S.A. On the 29th January 1894’. This might be him.

A William Milne aged 27 - Stone Cutter - born Scotland - arrived at Boston, Mass. on 8/4/1889.

Sounds like this is him.
