On the 1871 census in Nantyglo there is a transcription for a town called Garmach.

I believe this transcription to be incorrect but I just cant find a likely replacement, help rootschat

in the 1871 Wales Census

I think it must be Garn fach.

That's the same as Garn fach

Thanks both, I am local and did'nt think the original writing looked like  Garn Fach but when I have had another look and enlarged it it definitely is Garn Fach.
