Can't read it!
« on: Wednesday 23 March 22 08:49 GMT (UK) »
I would be grateful if someone could tell me who the parent or parents were of little 'base born' George Young (born 1639, Wanstrow, Somerset). Ancestry says it was Jone (who could be Joan or John, I suppose); I suspect it might be Jane. But what also is the final word on the entry?

I think it's the month, November.  The other entries are similar, with the month written after the person's details, and the day on the other side  of the line down the side of the page. So the baptism was on the 8th of November.

Galium is right, in quite a few other entries the name of the month can clearly be seen at the end of the entry after the parent(s) names.

I think the mother's name is written as Jane Younge

Thank you all. I think the November reply is the most likely. Well done everyone for finding suggested solutions!
