James McMichael Michel Born 1727 Married to Agnes Barbour

I have been researching my 6X Great Grandfather James McMichael.  I have found his birth day 1727 or 1730 and died 1814 from Scotland.  He married Agnes Barbour (Barber) in 1752.  They had 3 sons and 1 daughter. I have found quite a bit of info but no information on the parents of James, I have Agnes's parents names  Patrick Barbour 1692 and Agnes Stirratt 1696.  Does anyone have any information to help me fill in the blanks.  I have found a christening record for one of James's sons in 1762 and his name is listed as James Michel.  I know there are so many variations of the McMichael surname but I have hit a wall. Any help would be soooo appreciated.

This is been extensively researched and varied by my family so I am unsure where they tracked all this done but I know this has been verified as being him and we are able to trace the children etc through "some" records. (as you mentioned below)   These are the parents of my 5X Great Grandfather of James D McMichael 1763-1847 .  We can trace all the way back to James McMichael 1727 but unable to go back any further through his parents.  I do have the parents information for my 6x great grandmother Agnes, his wife.   The below information is correct Alexander is one of his sons that was born in 1767.   I would really like to find to go back further but know its a long shot, but wanted to reach out to see if anyone had any information at all.  Thanks

I cannot find any of the records you mention above on SP. What was the name of James father on the birth you found?

I did find the information on Agnes that you mention.

Patrick & Agnes married in Ayrshire.

Thanks that was also info I have. I am unable to find any info on James's father, that is the info I am looking for.  The birthdate was a date that was given by family members over the years, so I don't know where it came from.  However on some records of his children his name was listed as James Michel or James Michael. Thanks
