From The Little Book of Dundrum, Hugh Oram

“Near Milltown Cottages the river goes underground again ….But in Windy Arbour some of its waters were diverted at Farranboley, to provided a concrete works, two mills and a tannery.”

Thank you Kiltaglassan for all those births. I'd say like a lot of other McGuirk families they moved a lot (poverty).

Heywood, love the detail from the Census of Ireland 1891. Thank you. I always go off on tangents and couldn't help noticing that Windy Arbour was then called Windy Harbour!
Thank you also for the piece from Hugh Oram's book The Little Book of Dundrum. That probably nails the concrete placename....it must have been around the concrete works.

When I should be tracing relations I go wandering off wondering about place names and their relevance!!!
McGuirk, Jordan of Wicklow
Carr of Liverpool
Connor of Blackrock
