Hi all hope you are all well, once again I find myself needing some help re the above gentleman.he went missing last seen alive on 15th April 1978 his dead body was found on 18th April 1978 can anybody find any articles in newspapers about him he lived at 101a old Shoreham road,Shoreham by the sea West Sussex at this time, his wife was ada rose pears any help would be greatly appreciated Many thanks in advance

Have you looked in the British Newspaper Archive?

Where did you get the info re dates from?

Dates came from my cousin who has the probate records it's on her behalf I'm asking I think she is curious to see if there is anything in newspapers I havnt got bna account so I can't do it carole

Presumably there was an inquest?    If there was probate - there must have been a death cert.  Does your cousin not have a copy with the probate docs?

I don't know she lives in Canada I'm assuming she doesn't have the death certificate like I said I think she was curious to see if it was reported in the papers as it was a bit "shifty"to her ,reported missing then found dead couple of days later is usually something put in papers.

Nothing on BNA or Find My Past.  May need to find a website for local papers at the time of the event.

He was 84yrs old & may have had dementia - just a theory but the death cert will give the cause of death & whether an inquest was held
