Hi,
The Green annotations on the 1921 census, were placed there for statistical purposes and relate to type of employment. On your image you have 459/, this relates to makers of drinks, which would tie in with occupation given as Maltsters Labour.
The occupation numbers used are from 1 - 999, followed by a slash and another number, I cannot read this on the image posted, but it will be in the range of O - 8 these indicate I.e., self employed, not working at home etc.
At the end of the list 1-999, is an X, which shows he was retired or not employed.
Can you supply the number written after 459/?
What is the age of the person the green annotations refer too.
Or just post more information so a direct lookup can be made.
