Hello everyone, just joined and my first post. I'm researching a Carroll family who came to Liverpool in about 1840 (famine time ?). The earliest I have is Thomas Carroll who lived and died in or around Athleague in Roscommon in 1790, or that is what I believe. I can follow a blood line from him to present day Liverpool, I think ! At a more recent time we have a Galloway connection from Armagh, Co. Tyrone which is proving to be more difficult to trace. Has anyone been to Dublin Record Office, if you have is it worth the trip? If any of this strikes a chord with anyone drop me a message, perhaps we can help each other.
Best wishes, UncleTerry
