« on: Thursday 31 March 22 13:25 BST (UK) »
Hello Everyone,

I am trying to find some information on my family who were from Shropshire Wales. My Grandmothers sister ran an Inn near the Army Barracks in Shropshire I believe my Grandmothers father was named Robert E Howler and her mother was Edith M Ingram. My Grandmother was called Cynthia Joan Howler great, I know I haven't got much info but I'm hoping someone might be able to dig something for me thanks everyone for you help.

Welcome to RootsChat ceren1978.

Adding to the previous information:

Robert Edward HORLER (birth date 8 April 1900 on the 1939 register, with wife Margaret at Wenlock) birth registered Jun qtr 1900 at Madeley (6a/641) mother's maiden name BALL.

Modified to add:
If you would like to find your Grandmother's siblings names, search FreeBMD for births, using surname HORLER and mother's maiden name INGRAM or DAVIES. I won't put them here as they may be still living and RootsChat has a policy of not naming living people.  :)

It appears Robert Edward HORLER travelled to the US in 1925, but returned in 1927.

Departed Southampton and arrived New York 9 June 1925 on the Republic, 25 year old labourer (brother Henry HORLER of Coalmoor, Horsehay) intending to stay permanently, to Mystic, Iowa - person in the US: Mrs NETCALFE (sister).

Arrived 16 May 1927 in London, from Montreal on the Ausonia.

Cynthia’s birth is registered in 1929 (no mothers name recorded on index)
HORLER, CYNTHIA  JOAN
GRO Reference: 1929  J Quarter in ST. ASAPH  Volume 11B  Page 447

Her mother’s death is registered in the same period. So her mother may have died as a result of the birth.

In 1939 Robert E Horler was working as a labourer in a sugar beet factory. Family living in Wenlock. He died in 1959.

Actually neale, if you search using FreeBMD, it shows mother's maiden names after 1911.  :) So Cynthia J has mmn INGRAM.
