On the same website for the marriages

11/01/65   Eugene   Gallagher   B   Sheskinarone   John   Bridget   McGlynn   S   Meenderryhirk   John

John is the father's name of both Eugene/Owen/????/Morn, and Bridget.  Husband came from Sheskinarone and wife from Meenderryhirk....which explains the first birth -  perhaps went home to her mother to have it.

This family with an Owen and a Bridget  may have emigrated to Du Bois Pa USA
'John Gallagher and Madge Coll
Owen (1843 - 1922) married Bridget McGlynn (John, Meenderryhirk) - DuBois, PA
Bridget (1850 - 1879) married Patrick McGlynn (John, Meenderryhirk
Hugh (1847 -1923) - DuBois, PA
Grace (1863- 1942) - DuBois, PA

Mary married Patrick Gallagher - household #27"

I just couldn't see your capital W but I do now although not as a capital but I now get what you were expressing (if it makes sense)?

Thanks everyone...just have to hope it is the correct family from the correct place & time.....JM & I were doing a real fine tag team there! Thanks JM.      Built on the base of the work done before.

Donegal researchers are able to benefit from the wonderful work done by Lindel Buckley over more than 20 years and her website is great.

As there really isn't a lot of first names starting with O, I wonder if out of habit from writing surnames like O'Hare, O'Connor, etc, the writer naturally moved his pen into position to write a capital and ended up with an overly large w? Just a thought.

And now to take a fun break from staring at bad handwriting, read this from that site that Shanreagh linked us to: http://donegalgenealogy.com/mermaid.gif  Free cookies to anyone that can figure out her family tree!
