Convict Conduct Registers of Tasmania
« on: Sunday 03 April 22 16:16 BST (UK) »
I'd appreciate help deciphering this entry from the Convict Conduct Registers of Tasmania. George Hazel was transported for 7 years, and arrived in 1833 on the ship Lotus. The column headings are Number, Names, Ship, Sentence, Offences etc. His sentence was extended by 2 years, but this extension was later found to be illegal.
I'm especially having problems with the end of the last two lines.
Thank you.

I think the last line could be ... & 9/6 costs. WHB

The line above might be 'or' followed by another place name, but someone more familiar with these documents and/or Tasmanian places will probably be better able to comment.

I have a friend in Tasmania. I'll send it to her to see if she recognises a place name. Thank you.

There seems to be two versions of his conduct record, this one is clearer for the last line
https://stors.tas.gov.au/CON31-1-20$init=CON31-1-20p206

...to reside in the District of Campbell Town or N[orfolk] Plains /DW/

DW - magistrate's initials
Norfolk Plains = Longford

Thank you so much, Matthew. How did I miss that? However, I wouldn't have know that was Norfolk Plains :).
I'm also puzzled by the 7 1/2 repeated in the entries. I'm guessing that represents the sentence + 2 years.
