Kerr family - information on Hugh Kerr and Margaret Galt

Hi all! My fourth great grandfather was Hugh Kerr, who immigrated to America sometime in the mid-1800s and died in Illinois in 1877. I am having the hardest time locating his baptismal records or any records of the like beyond his marriage to Margaret Galt around 1829. I'd love to find a baptismal/birth record (they were Presbyterian as far as I can tell).

According to his gravestone he was born Dec. 25th, 1803 in Scotland. I believe Margaret was from Ayrshire, born around 1806, and they were married there. Any ideas of how to locate more information? I've tried ScotlandsPeople and the Scottish Geneology Society. I'm hoping to search back as far as I can into the Kerr side right now. --the Galts have a bit more available history!

All help and guidance appreciated! Thanks  :)

Records on https://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk, free to search small fee to view. I do not see any children for them in Ayrshire?

Three Ayrshire baptisms for Margaret.

GALT   MARGARET   JOHN GALT/MARRION MOORE    11/08/1805   Maybole
GALT   MARGARET   JOHN GALT/AGNES MURE    21/02/1808   Stewarton
GALT   MARGARET   WILLIAM GALT/ANN    17/08/1806   Dreghorn

Scottish Naming Pattern. (Not all followed this exactly but it may help)
First son was named after his father's father
Second son was named after his mother's father
Third son was named after his father

First daughter was named for her mother's mother
Second daughter was named for her father's mother
Third daughter was named after her mother
Other daughters were named after other family members

The Margaret baptised in Dreghorn 1806 was the daughter of WILLIAM GALT & ANN SMALL they had 5 other children baptised in Dreghorn 1804 to 1816, then Jean below in Kilwinning 4 miles from Dalry. I think this is the most likely family.

I have just found the 1841 census

Sharon St. Dalry,. All born Ayrshire (Not there 1851)

KERR   Hugh   35   Labourer
KERR   Margaret   30   
KERR   Ann             9   
KERR   Mary             7   
KERR   Daniel    4   

This points to Margaret’s mother being Ann and Daniels parents Daniel & Mary.
