Where's Elsie ?
« on: Friday 08 April 22 14:51 BST (UK) »
My father in law was the middle child of 7. However I believe there was another. My husband remembers an aunt Elsie when he was young. The family name is Cox and they're all born around Rugby, Warks. The first born was a girl Violet Olive b 1910, followed by William George 1912, John Cyril 1914, Albert Henry 1916, Frank L R 1923 and Arthur Bernard in 1931...parents William George and Lucy Eleanor. I have been searching for Elsie unsuccessfuly for a while believing that her name was Violet and Elsie was just a pet name. However yesterday I found out that Violet died at the age of 12 so that can't be the case. Aunt Elsie existed in early the 1980's, althoough we never met she visited my husband's parents once. She had married and lived in Hitchen, Herts. I'm thinking she may have been born in the gap between the last 2 boys but I've looked from 1916 to 1930 as I know Arthur Bernard was the baby. Am I missing the obvious, please?

Did she marry a Leslie Stephens?

If so there is a tree with her birth as 21 Feb 1920 and death 25 May 2005 plus a photograph.

Thank you so much! I didn't know her first name was Kathleen.
