George Hogget may have married Mary Dockwray at St Mary, Heworth in 1849 Vol 24 page 137

It's on FamilySearch
3 February 1849, Heworth
George's father is Charles.
Mary's father is Richard.

Durham Records Online says residence for both, Felling.

Just to be contrary:
That DAWSON name seems to pop up.

FreeBMD:
Marriages Jun 1849

Dawson    Elizabeth        Chester le St    24   36

Hoggart    William        Chester le St    24   36

That does look like the right marriage
HOGGART, GEORGE  DAWSON
Mother's Maiden Surname: DAWSON
GRO Reference: 1850  S Quarter in CHESTER LE STREET  Volume 24  Page 53

Marriage was 16 May 1849, Chester le Street
William's father is George, not Charles :(

Alternative baptism for William? :-\
10 June 1827, Penshaw
Parents George and Maria Hoggett
Abode Copperas House
Father Husbandman
From FreeReg

Peshaw is near Fatfield, which is William's residence on the marriage to Elizabeth Dawson. Says all three born Fatfield in 1851.
William born Washington in 1861
Goodness knows what it says in 1871.

After son George Dawson came daughter Maria
HOGGART, MARIA
Mother's Maiden Surname: DAWSON
GRO Reference: 1853  M Quarter in CHESTER LE STREET  Volume 10A  Page 270

George Hoggart 30
Maria 30

Hi
Wow, so much info!!!   Thanks!!! It will take a while to sift through it. I know William did marry an Elizabeth Dawson (who seems to have "adopted" Mary's son Robert Ernest Galloway after her death) and his parents were George and Maria from Yorkshire. The Penshaw baptism 10.6.1827  for William is very interesting. I wonder what Copperas House was?

Once again, thanks for your interest.

Hi
It does look good for Penshaw.
George and Maria and family are still in Harraton in 1851, and that's where William, Elizabeth. and son George Dawson are too.

Looking for Robert and Mary Galloway's daughter, Elizabeth Charlotte.
Is there something odd here? :-\

Elizabeth Charlotte Galloway was registered in Sep qtr 1889, Gateshead.
In 1891 census, with her parents, she is age 1, born Gateshead.

No obvious death for her before the 1901 census, so she should be around, like her brother Robert Ernest.
There is in Gateshead
Charlotte Galloway, Step Daur, 11, born Durham Gateshead.
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XSHV-37Y

She is with James Poole, Widower, 53, Labourer Steel Works. He's born in Shropshire.
He has three children, youngest Lydia, 12, born Gateshead.

So in 1891 in Gateshead, James Poole is married to Annabella, 37
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:WJ3F-ZMM

Death in Gateshead, Sep qtr 1891, of Annabell Poole, age 39.

Marriages, June qtr 1896, Gateshead 10a 1395
Galloway, Mary
Poole, James

The other two names on page 1395 are Thomas E H Bell, and Mary Ann McLeod.
Common name though Bell is, it seems they can be paired off, living in Gateshead in 1901, and Newcastle in 1911, with daughters Agnes, Norah, Hilda.
