When I first saw the word I also thought Auctioneer, then changed my mind, so I think you are right.

 I’m not convinced the second word is “Brush”. What do you think Shaun?

Thanks Eilleen. I will have a look for William in 1861.

*added - the capital A is written differently elsewhere on the census.

FindMyPast have his occupation as Brickmaker with no offer for the first word.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

It does look more like Brick manufacturer

NB he is in Co Durham, not Northumberland!
