Ann Daniel and parents
« on: Wednesday 20 April 22 00:21 BST (UK) »
I have posted on here before with my struggle to find Ann Daniels (s) and son John Daniels.  After help from Rootchat folks I have accepted the fact John was illegitimate and I've been trying to find Ann's birth parents.  Since her son John was baptized at St Vincent in Caythorpe, I am assuming her family lived near by.  I searched all the Ann Daniel's that I could find and have deleted some of the families through distance or the fact that Ann, if they had a daughter with that name, was not born at a date where the 1817 birth of her son would have occurred.  I've gotten it down to two possible sets of parents.  Robert and Mary Johnson married in Westborough with a daughter Ann being born in 1798.  The other couple Robert and Hannah had Ann in 1799.  They had multiple children and by 1808 they had kids born in Derbyshire.  I'm assuming that my Ann is this first since that family has stayed in the area.  Is that sound enough reasoning to make Robert and Mary Johnson Ann's parents or should I continue to look? If anyone is familiar with the Daniel's of Westborough, Lincolnshire I'd appreciate the input and if you knew who Ann later married it would be a bonus.

I had seen the Ann Daniel from Sleaford before but didn't feel it was likely that it was the one I'm looking for.  She had her son in May 1817.  I decided it was unlikley that she was the mother because she's have to be pregnant so young.  Do you think it's more likely since her son was illegitimate?

They were allowed to marry at 14 in that era ???   and girls were working at 12 - dairy maids etc - so they became "Women "  a lot younger than they do now - who knows - ?  it may be or not be your Ann - I would tend to say NO -IF - Daniels was a common name in the area ... I would keep a record of that Ann in Sleaford just in case - for future reference  :)
that Ann was born 1802 - John 1817 - 15 yrs old was not that uncommon to give birth early 1800's
