I wonder if it is the same relative? JPD?   I found something from a family note (although very blurry) but if him, for a birth entry for child (not on records found on websites but in newspaper Times of India) it mentions him as a Manager and Waterfall Estate. Couldn't make out the Town/Village name but think its in Niligiri district. Not sure if that is the plantation where he worked or where he lived but worth exploring.  Yes, a staffing list would be very helpful.

Thank you that is very helpful. I have just taken a look.  Poonachee (Poona?).  It would be good to find out if that is a Plantation or not where he worked.   I knew they had a younger son (it was the daughter in 1875) but I had not date.  So thank you.
