Patrick Carr, Royal Dublin Fusiliers
« on: Sunday 24 April 22 10:20 BST (UK) »
I have been tracing my step Grand Uncle Patrick Carr's life. With great help from rootschatters!
I know he was born in Glenageary, Co Dublin in 1875 and died in Dún Laoghaire, Co Dublin in 1913. I found him in the 1901 and 1911 Irish census and found details of his marriage to Teresa Murray. Within our extended Carr family someone has just mentioned that they saw a military service detail for a Patrick Carr (may not be our man). It roughly said:
Gender Male
Marital status: Single
Age: 17
Birth Year: abt 1876
Birth Place: St Michan, Dublin, Dublin, Ireland
Enlistment Date: 24 Mar 1893
Enlistment Place: Dublin Ireland
Regiment: 102nd Foot (R. Dublin Fusiliers)
Service Number: 1390.
Now my question is how would I get more details of this man? Maybe an address or where he enlisted that could tie in with my Patrick

Thank you ShaunJ. That answers my question. He was not my Patrick Carr who lived in Dún Laoghaire Co. Dublin. Appreciate your help.

There's another one from St Michan, joined the regular army in 1895 aged 19  (it could be the same person): a porter, mother Catherine, 8 Charles St, brothers Thomas & John. But this is not your man: in South Africa 1897-1903, married Catherine Cullen in 1909.

Thank you once again ShaunJ for looking up this. Not my Patrick either. My poor Patrick's mother died shortly after he was born and he lived with relatives. No blood brothers or sisters. His father subsequently remarried and I have all details of this second family. Patrick seemed to have been adrift from the family and I just wanted to piece together his life. Really appreciate your help.
