What was his name?  I can't see any Rhodes/Denton births in 1879. 

Do you have the 3 of them together on the 1881 census?

Father Harry Gedcke foundry man

Her father Thomas Denton bleacher

There's a George Rhodes death in 1898 age 38 but don't know if the same man.
