Redhill House Edgeware
« on: Wednesday 27 April 22 19:23 BST (UK) »
I have just got a copy of a great grandfather's death cert dated 1921.  It shows he died at Redhill House, Edgware and the informant is Robert J Blake Occupier.  I am guessing that at that time Redhill House was the Infirmary part of the workhouse but I am puzzled by the term Occupier.  Can anyone help to explain please?

Did your great-grandfather die after the 1921 census was taken in June? I see there's a Robert James Blake (born 1868) residing in Hendon in 1921. Possibility he's affiliated with the Hendon Workhouse.

It was known as Edgware Hospital when my husband was born there in the 50's and when I had my tonsils taken out there in 1958

Yes found my great grandfather on the 1921 census living at 5 Foote(?) Cottages Kingsbury Rd but then died on 28th Dec 1921.  Charles Gooch born 1859
