Amie/Anne Smyth c1590

Hello,

I am a bit stuck and wondered if anyone might have any tips with finding Amie /Anne Smyth's birth family please?

In 1620 Edmund Rig(g)ins of Marcham married Amie/Anne Smyth of Chilton.

I have had to rely on transcripts of the parish register as I can't find images on line to determine whether her name was Amie or Anne, both versions are in the transcripts but in 1648 Edmund refers to her as Amie in his will. He also mentions his friends Richard and John Smyth who could be relatives of Amie/Anne.

Edmund also mentions his children, William (no baptism) who marries Alice Bottenton (another brickwall), Richard (no baptism) who I think moved to Cumnor, Amey (no baptism & vanishes), Joane (baptised Marcham 1621 and vanishes), Edmund (bap Marcham 1622 and inherits the farm, he married Mary Turner of Kelscott Manor), Agnes (bap Marcham 1625 and vanishes) and John (bap Marcham 1634, I assume Amie, Richard and William were born between 1625-1634, John moved to Wallingford).

There were a Richard and John Smyth in Chilton having children in the right time frame but neither of the ones I have looked at mention Riggins or Marcham in their wills to corroborate a link.

In Edmund's will be gives his wife £30 left to her in her mother's will. I can't find a likely will for her mother at the moment and female/Smyth and possibly Berkshire are all I have to go on!

I have looked through the Chilton PR transcripts and can't find an Amie Smyth or Anne Smyth baptism that fits.

I just wondered if anyone might have any ideas as to where I could look for clues next please?

Best wishes Emma
