Help to find Phoebe Maria Billett (1826 - 1875) BETHNAL GREEN
« on: Monday 02 May 22 08:00 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

I'm trying to work out who my 5th Great Grandparents are but can't find any concrete evidence.

My 4th Great Grandmother was Phoebe Maria from Bethnal Green London UK. She Married William Bean in 1845. James Billet (Weaver) was her father. James Clements and Esther Billett were witnesses.

They had:
William John Bean 1845–
Maria Jane Bean 1848–
ELIZABETH BEAN 1851–1903 --------------My family line
Amelia Bean 1853–
James Henry Bean 1859–
Ellen Bean 1864–1887
Alfred Albert Bean 1865–
Reuben John Bean 1870–

A Phoebe Billett appears in the 1941 Census with a Sarah Billett (45) and a Richard Johnson (45 weaver).

So putting two and two together I thought her father could be James and mother Sarah.
Ive since tried to find her baptism certificate but not been successful.

I have however found James and Sarah Billett and these children:
Sarah Ann Billett 1815– Hare Street (St Matthews Church)
Amelia Billett 1821– New Inn Yard (St Leonard's)
Elizabeth Billett 1825–New Inn Yard (St Leonard's)
James George Billett 1830 - Castle street (St Leonard's)

I also cannot seem to find her and her family inn the 1861 census.

Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated.
Kind Regards

Josie

Esther Clements (abt 1824) married Dec 1843 to Henry Billett. father Charles Clements. Henry's father was James Billett a weaver.

Maybe Esther had a brother James who was also the witness?

Thank you all so much. That’s incredibly helpful.

I noticed that on Sarah packs marriage to Grout John Horsell is a witness. John Horsell married Sarah Ann Billett.

I wonder who Emma Lane was?

I just cannot find a baptism record for Phoebe Maria. Amy DNA through lines don’t seem to be connecting to anyone other than Beans. So I’m wondering if there’s more to the story?

Thank you all for replying back and so swiftly too. I’ve add this new info and I’ll see what comes up.

Kind regards
Josie
