Thank you all for your suggestions, I will have another go when I can get there this week, I have a feeling that I might have taken the surface from the perspex as it looks like a smear, I wish whoever stuck sellotape to the outside would come and sort it out, I have no idea who it  is but it is annoying. Often it is difficult to get labels off, I wish they would use labels that aren't so difficult to get off

Viktoria, hope you have had a rest from your ordeal and feel better for it but what an awful, experience. It is difficult helping others with their financial problems, think I would leave it to her daughter, I like FH's swear box idea , sounds fun though so just beware !!!

Jeff, we have a brick wall issue, it was knocked down whilst we were both out, had an estimate and the insurance threw it back, to high, asked another company and still awaiting an estimate, might have to look elsewhere but it is unsightly.

It is very dull this morning, look like rain again, not had any for weeks, the evenings I find are very cold, normally during the winter I have just worn a top but over the last week I have been wearing a fleece zip up it has been so cold and we have had the heating on

I am going to the Tower of London this week, I have been to the closing ceremony before, it is a very enjoyable evening filled with history and fun, I just don't want it to rain

Hope everyone is feeling brighter this week

LM

Well, both my daughter and son in law have tested positive .
Both had two vaccinations but too young to have boosters.

Grand daughter and her boy friend too.
Strange but daughter felt awful so tested ,negative,   some hours later felt worse so tested again -  positive.!

It is not playing fair is it!

A grey cool day,and rain forecast this evening.

Just watching Jay Blades of TheRepair Shop, in Hackney ,where he lived as a child, very interesting .
The Krays, the connections with Slavery ,Fascism .
On next week I think.

Well kitchen put  to bed ,need to go to Bury tomorrow, re the mis - transaction by Santander.
Hope everyone is well.
Viktoria.

Hope you get some satisfaction with your bank, I had to wait a week for  the mistake the ATM made, I was going on holiday at the time but no matter what I said it wouldn't be cleared for a week , luckily I wasn't emptying my account , it was reimbursed a week later

Despite what people think Covid is still doing the rounds, as as I have said before we have to be aware  of where we are, I still wear my mask and will continue to do so

Dull day again, looks as if it has rained overnight but not enough

Take care

Spoke with my daughter and G,daughter  this morning ,daughter not too bad at the moment but G daughter quite ill.
My friend is still quite ill after her second booster.
Bought some Multivitamin pills which I will post to her
tomorrow ,hoping they make her feel better.

All sorted at the bank .

Bought a lovely little box at a charity shop.
Mahogany ,maybe had been for jewellery but looks better on the coffee table
than the basket for my eye drops ,so I remember to do them.

Buses were good today , so there and back in quick time.

Posted a book to my second son ,should be with him in a day or so.
Then on a bus to Bury .
It all works our very conveniently , a circular journey .

Got a hanging basket liner from local hardware shop ,for  the red white and blue basket I am doing .

Hope all are well, and doing interesting things .
Cheerio folks.
Viktoria.

Re: removing sticky label/sellotape residue. A tip I read years ago is use plain Vaseline with a soft dry cloth, rub gently. Not sure why it works but it always has for me.

Spoke with my daughter last night as usual, she feels quite a bit better but not grand daughter ,it will take some time I suppose but she has nausea too
however is not a pill popper but did take some Paracetamol ,as so achey ,maybe they upset her tummy.

Lovely morning and I have just realised I have not posted my postal vote, can’t vote in person either,ah well ,could not make my mind up and we have three votes this time but I missed the deadline !
Never mind , but a local character who is very community minded would have been a down to earth feet on the ground what is best for Ramsbottom councillor .
He started the “ World Famous Black Pudding Competition “ the world famous
needle match where black puddings are thrown at a Yorkshire pudding balanced on a ledge over the Old Oak pub .
Going  on since mediaeval times ( well 1970’s when Jimmy retired as a fireman to become the landlord )
His wife had a little cafe and sweet shop and when we first viewed our house we went there for coffee and toasted tea cakes .
So friendly and Jimmy loved animals and all the pets were named after United players .
We got the feel of the  little town and felt we could settle .

So , need to rewrite a cheque for the little chapel where my friend’s funeral was, where we went to Sunday  School and chapel with the adults,
I addressed it wrongly .
Lovely day so will enjoy the stroll to the post box ,ah, only one collection was at nine O’Clock  so better in the box in Morrison’s .last collection five O’Clock .
I can see what plants they have too for the hanging basket ,and post the vitamins to my friend.as a PO there .
If nothing a short bus ride ( but a VERYsteep hill)to the Garden Centre and pay my milk bill as it is a farm too.
Not at all sure when my sister is coming home ,but it will be difficult for her .

Hope everyone us having good weather as we are here .

I feel disenfranchised , ought I to find a horse to throw myself under,?actually  ,that is not funny ,Emily Davidson was trying to give a pamphlet to the Jockey, modern slow motion analysis of the footage shows .
I am grateful we ladies can vote due in no small part to the bravery if such ladies .
I was going to delete the remark as tasteless but then thought it ought to be remembered just how brave they were .I ought to have said how grateful we ladies should be to the Suffragettes and Emily Davidson ‘s determination which tragically cost her life.
I will accept people’s admonishments as fair criticism .
Cheerio,
Viktoria.

Have  had another  go at the  notice  board with sticky  stuff remover, normally  very  good  but it has sort of smeared it, added problem  is the sun baked the sellotape on as it gets the full  sun, I  can  only  do  my best, miracles  cost  more !,,

LM - try WD40

PS - hope the smear isn't caused by the perspex being damaged by one of the other products.
