buried in wool 1685

What is the significance of the entry in Horningsham (Wilts) which tells me that Joane Young “made oath before Sir Hinery Oakes that Mary the daughter of Robert Cummings was wrap up in woollen only and soo buryed May 22”? What does it tell me about Joane Young?

What an interesting article, absolutely fascinating.

A £5 fine in 1666 ! Must have been a kings ransom  :o

Wool has such a diverse history, going in and out of fashion many times.
