Swedish Ancestors - Eskilson

Hi, I’ve hit a brick wall with my research. My 5x G Grandfather was Andres (or Anders) Eskilson born around 1780 in Sweden. Came to England and married an English women called Mary Lane at St George’s in the East church in London. He was imprisoned for debts in Oct 1803, and then prest to the British Royal Navy.
I’m trying to find more info about him, I.e. his birth in Sweden.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

If you have not done so already then a simple search on Family Search under the name Anders Eskilson has many records.

NB the system was patronymic

a name derived from the name of a father or ancestor, e.g. Johnson, O'Brien, Ivanovich.

The father's name may have been Eskil  XYZ
So his son becomes Eskilson (ie the son of Eskil)
