The age on his marriage certificate is more likely to be closest to correct, than that on his death.
Can you post his marriage certificate so all information is clearly viewable please.

says he is 37 on marriage cert 1900

below is from a newspaper article

About Henry James Ferry
Auckland Star, Volume LXXI, Issue 298, 13 December 1940. MR. H. J. FERRY.

Mr. Henry James Ferry, of Norton Road, Frankton, died yesterday at the age of 84. Born in London, Mr. Ferry came to New Zealand as a youth. He went to the Canterbury district and farmed there for some time. In 1880, he moved to Auckland and later again took up farming in the Thames Valley. He has lived in retirement in Hamilton since 1931. Mr. Ferry is survived by six sons and two daughters. will post marriage cert later as file seems to big

marriage cert photo  .....also going by age of photos. wedding photo of meta is around 1920

marriage cert 37
death cert nz lists death age at 84
would love to view of birth cert from his country of origin

he was in nz 1880 .....so i dont think he came to new zealand at age 17 or under, this is probably why i think eath age is right and backed up by auckland star.......but i dont know for sure

If he came to NZ "as a youth", there is this possible immigration in 1875: William and wife, 7 children including 6 yr old James.

Just a possibility.  :-\

Birth pace on the marriage is not London!

Is it Dartmouth or Portsmouth? I can’t quite tell.

Yes, looking at the marriage cert now, I can't quite decide on location - Portsmouth or Dartmouth. And father William is an engineer.
