Alex Wilson & Helen Gourlay  ?

Added it could say witness after names. The W looks like in worker or Wilson

Experts should be along soon

I read it as Alex Wilson and Helen Gourlay with the same surname such as Milnan.

It does seem odd if they were witnesses as there is a separate column in Scottish Marriage registers for the witnesses.
What is in the witness column on this certificate?

I see Alexr Wilson Witness and Helen Gourlay Witness.

The only reason I can think of for witnesses to the bride's signature is that she was illiterate and made her mark, but then it should say "Annie Gourlay X Her Mark" followed by a witness. Could that have been omitted when the marriage schedule was copied?

I've just checked through many pages of my saved images for deviations to the statutory wedding format.

Column 6 is for the witnesses to the marriage.  For those who have made their mark, the usual form is name with a cross between first name and surname and the signatures of witnesses to the mark beneath.

It would seem that, as Isobel has said, the (mark) has been omitted in this case.
