Burial of John Smiley 1881

I received recently  death certificate for john smiley from a ancestry uk tip ( no Longer Member ? )
it says john died 21 jan 1881 aged 53 @ 279 newtownards road belfast . the death was registered by my Grt Grt grandfather joseph radcliffe who had married jane smiley but I can't find a burial in city council records and subsequently having difficulty how he fits in . John was a custom house officer on death certificate any help suggestions appreciated

John died at 289 Newtownards Road and his nextdoor neighbour Joseph Radcliffe who witnessed the death lived at number 287.

What religion was John Smiley?
If Church of Ireland etc, he may have been buried elsewhere, and not in a listed city council cemetery. Several local churches had their own burying grounds/graveyards.

sorry bout mix up in address Nos. thinking jane smylie married to joesph radcliffe is maybe a sister
to john smylie who married in Trinity  C.O.I. BelfastI when I  was young  my Grt Grt granny   jane smylie married to joseph radcliffe was rumoured to be from the smylies the chartered accountants in belfast , in fact I can rememember being with my mum and granny radcliffe being in the office facing city hall .I think she was cut of for marring beneath her ?? My grandfather had smylie in his name
