Thank you Viktoria.
I was quite touched my son asked me if I had any names I would like for the baby's middle name, I suggested my mother's maiden name, Oliver, which is quite popular right now.  They have already chosen a first name, it's a secret, and rightly so, I don't want to know until he is born!

Can't find the info., wondering if the RCMP were involved in the Queen's gala last night, they are famous for their musical ride.

Caroline, pleased to hear your friend is up to visiting you, she has had it rough, I hope she continues improving.

Diana, your weather extremes certainly knock ours into a cocked hat! (Wondering now what on earth that means  ;D)
I didn't watch the jubilee celebrations but have read in the news today, how lovely to see the Queen enjoying herself so much. Here's the link Diana, I can't see any mention of the RCMP but I haven't clicked the links from the article:

Correct me  if  I am  wrong  but I  thought there were 4  RCMP  escorting the Queens as she left in her car , if  not who were they?.

The Queen seemed to laugh and wave at the joke  about her favouring  Windsor over the opening of Parliament,  wasn't  sure  about it  myself, thought  he  took a risk

Good  luck with  your results Diana,  will look forward to hearing about your new baby when  it  arrives

I believe that you are right LM.  I only caught the end of the programme, Alan Titchmarsh was talking when I tuned in not long before the end

Yes The RCMP were  there ,but can’t remember exactly what they did, quite near the end .
One ride was so fast! Does thst sound like them.?
I saw them close up oooh, 1966, they were on a courtesy visit to Belgium, the event was in the open air and we were right up to the barrier .Our two boys  (no girlie as yet so pre Nov 1967, ) would be ten and eight, it was superb.
In the open air and a on big field , that red is so bright!

It was very exciting ,such speed in a confined area, whew!
Hope you get to see it.
Viktoria.
So exiting ,

Thank you all for your tips on the RCMP at the Platinum Gala.  I do have BritBox and yesterday they were broadcasting it live, but it was earlier in the day here, so I was busy.  I did see some clips on today's GMB (shortened and delayed), I think there were Mounties opening the car doors for her.
Rosie, thanks for that link - very interesting!
I did see a scaled down musical ride in Ottawa one Canada Day at their training headquarters.  Still impressive!
You all know, of course, they do not wear their red coats when policing!  ;D

Now for the baby news.  Last scans and heart test were today and son has informed me that everything is fine!!  The baby/fetus seems to have absorbed the cyst (as the medical people were hoping), so that is a big relief.  This weekend is Victoria Day and Monday is a statutory holiday so they are going to Niagara region and I will see them then.  Can't wait!  Haven't seen them since August.

Had my bone density scan today, routine, just to check against last one.  Very nice and jokey technician, went smoothly and quickly.  Bit stiff afterward but am alright now.
