What else do you know about your Edward John?  Did he marry?  If so - when & who to?

He was in Lambeth 1939 (not the one posted earlier) and still single.

Thanks all, apologies for the slow reply myself.  There are two Edward John Casserlys.  The main one mentioned in the replies (married to Susanna Weed) is the nephew.  The Edward John we're looking for is brother to Thomas Joseph Casserly (also mentioned in the thread). 

I don't think he's married but shall check.

I canít see this entry on Ancestry but FindMyPast indexes has an entry in Southwark. I canít check though.

Is that the nephew  ??? I thought he was born much later.

At last, I think.
Ancestry has him as Causley in 1939.

You could check these entries

Electoral registers 1932 onwards
8 Dolben Street
Edward Casserley

His nephew was up the street at number 56 Dolben street.  In EJC's Royal Marines record, a brother J was at 51 Dolben Street.
