Hi these are those who died at Smithies Road

https://www.cwgc.org/find-records/find-war-dead/search-results/?Surname=&Forename=&Initials=&ServiceNum=&Regiment=&Rank=&DateDeathFromDay=18&DateDeathFromMonth=June&DateDeathFromYear=1944&DateDeathToDay=26&DateDeathToMonth=June&DateDeathToYear=1944&DateOfDeath=&AdditionalInfo=Smithies+Road&CountryCommemoratedIn=null&Cemetery=&Unit=&SecondaryRegiment=&AgeOfDeath=0&Honours=null
Thank you Nic.
I had managed to whittle them down in the end…I thought we must be looking for a young woman, as my grandma said it was her friend…but then her friend could have been either sex and any age. I suppose I just assumed that she would be a student nurse like my grandma.

Thank you Debra…that’s interesting…where did you find that info?

On the search page under 'additional fields' you can specify a date of death range or an exact date of death.  There is also an 'additional information' field where you can put any keywords such as St. Nicholas Hospital or Nurse or SRN, parents' names, street names etc.

You can also search the GRO death registrations and there are very few deaths for young women registered in the district of Woolwich in June 1944.  You can perhaps widen your search and make a list of deaths of possible women which you can then look for in the CWGC indexes.

Debra  :)

Thank you Dundee
That would be my way of approaching it.
I will see what I can come up with.
