Having a look about for our John and Jane Mitchel.
In the 1841 Census I found John Mitchel Hathershelf Lower Sowerby, Yorkshire...then this
15 Feb 1772 ..Baptism Place: Sowerby, St Peter and Others, Yorkshire, England
Aged between 65-69 which sort of fits....Sowerby is roughly 30 miles from Pontefract
could not find a marriage for John and Jane [suppose to be 1799]and William born 1801 Pontefract...
Looks to me that our John and a Henry [died 1773] and Eli [died 1772] might be siblings with their father being also a John from this same Sowerby area.
I found this info West York Eng Bap Mar and Deaths 1512-1812 Is anyone able to prove and confirm this John is our Guy Please
