Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for relatives of Robin Maben Reid of the Kings Own Scottish Borderers - Service No :- 7429. Died 30/7/1915  (aged 18 years)

He was the son of James Reid, of Abbotrule, Bonchester Bridge, Hawick.

The private memorial marking the grave of Pvt Reid no longer provides adequate commemoration. The Commission are in the process of producing a new headstone.

Both men were the children of James Reid and Helen Maben - married 1894 Oxnam, Roxburghshire.
Headstone Inscription gives Helen died 12 October 1900

James Reid -  1868 - 1917 Hawick, Roxburghshire.

Helen Maben - 1869 - 1900 Hawick, Roxburghshire. (aged 40 years)

Ancestry tree is showing a daughter - Elizabeth Drummond Reid -  22 April 1899 - Roberton, Roxburghshire, Scotland.  Married a William Cheshire and passed away 1983 Chichester Sussex.

Elizabeth Drummond Cheshire 22 April 1899 - 1983  (aged 84 years) Chichester.
Volume 18 Page 1695

Marriage - Elizabeth Drummond Reid -  1920 - Hawick - 789/1
