Have you seen the shipping record for this journey in 1874, if so could you please let us have the ages and occupations. Where did the ship leave from and where did it land in NZ.
Could you please also let us have details of death/marriage in NZ and the names of the children in birth order in case they adopted the Irish naming patterns and children were named for fathers/mother and other family kin.
'Traditional Naming Pattern
A traditional naming pattern was often used by Irish parents until the later 19th century:
First son usually named for the father's father
Second son usually named for the mother's father
Third son usually named for the father
Fourth son usually named for the father's eldest brother
Fifth son usually named for the mother's eldest brother
First daughter usually named for the mother's mother
Second daughter usually named for the father's mother
Third daughter usually named for the mother
Fourth daughter usually named for the mother's eldest sister
Fifth daughter usually named for the father's eldest sister. '

There is this entry for Portglanone Benjamin Kidd born 1825.
