Diary summary week ending 12th June
« on: Monday 06 June 22 22:19 BST (UK) »
Hi  folks,  no one started  this  weeks diary  off so here  I am

Been a  busy  weekend  but yesterday I was disappointed that it was quiet here, it was  chilly I must admit  but not a sound  could be heard, perhaps everyone was indoors trying to  keep warm or watching the pageant

The little princes and princess were adorable and I couldn't help laughing at the little one, it really was a  big ask to expect the children to behave for such a long time and then onto the balcony,  I imagine after that they all  went home to bed exhausted

Back to normal  now

I'd forgotten we were into another week, if everyone's as flaky as me it would be no wonder the diary thread is quiet!

Chilly here too today, was thinking this morning that it had gone back to winter. It warmed up a bit later, I was working in the garden and ended up discarding my body warmer.

The TV were running some of the highlights of the jubilee celebrations and played the Paddington Bear having tea with the Queen sketch, I just love it! Apparently none of the family knew that she'd filmed it, I'm sure they must have enjoyed watching it too.

I haven't  seen the  PB  episode  but I will, I  think our Queen  has a quirky sense  of humour, like comimg  put of a helicopter at the year 2000,  well done  Mam

Was that the James Bond one?

H.M. Looked as if she had been crying, red eyes at her last appearance on the balcony when dressed in green.

Well all over now ,wonderful scenes and the pageant too.
All quiet here throughout ,not a flag or bit of bunting except on my house!

Next door neighbour was 96 today ,I had planted up two containers in her front garden, now in bloom .
We had raspberries and cream this afternoon as a little treat.

My iPad has been out of action ,but my daughter as usual called this evening so talked me through it and all in order now but photos are lost, very sadly .

A much nicer day today, milder and some nice sunshine.
Hope all are O.K , cheerio.
Viktoria.

I am also surprised at the lack of any  bunting up locally to me, I really can't understand why, the only people who had any up, including me were 2 over 70's, I think it is a generation  thing.

Pleased  you had a  little tea  party with  your friend Viktoria

Thank you for the clip Roobarb

Beautiful day  here, can't  miss a washing load  so off I  go to strip the bed,  all go !!

Well the weekend of celebrations are all over and everything back to normal..
On Sunday we held an afternoon tea which, sadly, had to be in the village hall due to the rain… it was packed though… nice to see so many villagers attending.

I too enjoyed the Paddington bear sketch tge Queen did… highlight of the w/end I think!
Yesterday was a very chilly one… we even turned our heating on for a hour! In June for heavens sake!!! Visited the opticians for check up after my cataract op.. apparently I’ve no got 20/20 vision in that eye! It’s certainly made a difference that’s for sure!

How lovely Viktoria to celebrate your neighbours 96th birthday with raspberries and cream… I’m sure she’s delighted with the planters too.

LM like you I’m having a washing day as the weather is a big improvement on yesterday!

Roobarb, glad to hear you’ve managed to get in the garden…I need to do some of that today too… got lots of strawberries growing just need to keep the slugs from devouring them!

Well must get on… have a good week everyone.

Morning all
Yes back to 'normal' now whatever that is! Family left yesterday morning so I spent the rest of the day stripping things ,washing and hoovering. It's been so lovely seeing them but I do miss them when they go. (They live 6 hours drive away and trains are a bit faffy, assuming they're even running. )
Still haven't caught up with all the jubilee things but did watch trooping the colour and have watched the Saturday night concert- including Paddington. Will watch the St Pauls service and the parade later this week once our childminding duties for the other grandchildren are done.
