It’s been a scorcher here today too… up to 31C and still 20C now at just gone midnight!
Far to hit to go outside apart from a trip up to the veg plot to pick strawberries, now covered with mesh and it wasn’t slugs that had been eating them but pigeons! Well now they can’t!

I braved the ironing this afternoon with both side and front windows open in my work room, a nice breeze got up which certainly helped.

We sat outside to eat this evening as it had cooled a little and again a stiffer breeze… that’s all gone now though..

Sorry you got stuck on the dreaded M25 LM… the biggest car park in the country!

Well I hope that Bonny Scotland and the Isle of Man get some improved weather tomorrow!

We’re off down to visit daughter and family in Ealing tomorrow and staying overnight… as we sleep in the loft I’m praying it’ll be cooler or we could expire!

Stay cool for those in the heat and warm and dry for those in the chillier parts of UK!

Up early and have lounge window and patio open, no  breeze at all, slept on top of tbe bed as it was  so hot last  night, think it  might be slightly cooler  this  morning but it is early

Yes M25  ,  from where we  live to go south we have to use the dreaded M25, I absolutely hate it, it is almost  like I freeze when I am on it,  i don't  drive on it,
even yesterday's condition there are still the idiots who in my opinion take a risk, they  might only gain a few  minutes  but they could be in the next world earlier that they would  like  by being stupid and of course it endangers  others

Well it was early when I started  this now gone  08.30

Enjoy  your trip Caroline

It's probably just as well we have cool temperatures?

The annual Parish Walk starts this morning. Competitors have to visit each parish on the island - a total of 85 miles!
1295 competitors this year; "par" time is 18 hours.

I think we fared well here in North East England, yesterday was really warm but mostly cloudy so not that overwhelming heat. The pollen count was a bit too high for my liking yesterday.  Sunny today, cooler start and forecast fresher, 19 degrees which is pleasant.

Must say I wouldn't fancy an 85 mile walk whatever the weather! Here's hoping for some 'average ' weather for everyone! And some sunshine for Caroline's hols!

Well it’s cooler here today, cloudy and slightly drizzly …

Just had call from daughter … eldest grandson not well… sickness bug doing the rounds so we’ve decided not to go as we certainly don’t want to get it!

OnMonday we’re off to stay with one lot of friends for the night, Tuesday some other friends ending up in Dorset for the  weeks holiday we should have had last year but didn’t due to OH’s mystery virus! Ah we’ll plan B as had everything sorted out for food and cancelled tomorrow’s paper too!

Good luck with 85 Mike walk in any weather… obviously not for the feint hearted!

I agree with you LM the M25 is not my most favourite motorway either… both our children were at Surrey Uni in Guildford so we certainly spent a lot of time on it over the total of 9 years they were there between them!

Hope everyone has a better day today…

Wonder what’s happened to Viktoria it’s unlike her not to be posting… hope all is well with her..

Felt like 41 here earlier this week, horrible horrible stuff.  Much cooler now, feels like 7 outside this morning, am off to a town-wide garage sale soon in a nearby village, must take my jacket!

Such extremes again for you Diana, I'd be swapping outfits every five minutes!

Caroline, I share your concerns about Viktoria, she hasn't been on Rootschat since Thursday. Hoping it's because she is getting the photo problem sorted on her ipad rather than anything wrong with her or her family.
