Dunphys of Killyleagh
« on: Sunday 19 June 22 22:54 BST (UK) »
Hi all, I would appreciate any advice on how to find the maiden name of a woman who married circa 1845. There is no baptismal certs for their children, no marriage cert for the parents, and no access to parish marriage cert that might mention mmn

The couple in question is Henry and Jane Dunphy, who had at least 4 children to my knowledge. Henry was a stone-mason.

Margaret - b. circa 1850 married 1868 to Thomas Cushnahan
Ann/Nancy/Agnes - b. circa 1847 married before 1868 to Thomas Coughlan (no marriage record)
Sarah b. circa 1848 didnt marry.
John born circa 1837 (?) married but not sure who to.

Also if anyone could find any mention to a Keenan family as I believe there is a connection.

Jane's death cert (1882)

Henry's death cert (1888)

there is also a grave in Killaresy graveyard that I believe could be relataed but not sure.

Thanks!! :)

A Margaret Dunphy, age 91, spinster, died in 1901, Tullyvery. Her niece, Jane Keenan was present.

1901 census for Margaret Dunphy.

I also noticed that an Annie Keenan was present at the death of Jane in 1882.

I think Margaret Dunphy may be Henry's sister. Not sure of the link to her niece, Jane Keenan. Her husband was a William Keenan & from the birth of one of their children, her surname was Murray.
