Is this Alicia's death?

Deaths Mar 1926
Harris    Alicia    49    Rochford    4a   753

Right sort of age going by the 1911 census which gave her age as 34, birth year 1877

You say that Joseph is living in Essex in the 1939.  Rochford covers Southend on Sea.

The father Joseph's army officer records are still with the MoD - it is possible to apply for a copy but it's a long wait and it costs £30

Joseph Harris lived at Leigh on Sea in February 1936 per obituaries for his sister Annie who died at his residence there.

I think this is her Probate

I considered that death going by mwjw22jb's reply#17.  The age fits, the only way to know for sure would be to obtain the death certificate or any other record that clarifies that death.

The entry for the Alecia Harris 1926 death Rochford could well be hers. I did find some military history records for josepm of FindMyPast - there's about 4 pages starting with attestation in 1882. On the newspaper
wedding notice for George and Bertha in Australia it says that his father was of "Grafton" Leigh on Sea, Essex.

I'll have to find Joseph's family before he joined the military as haven't got any of his siblings. His father I think was Joseph 1822-1877 and mother Mary Bird. Mary was a widow when she married Joseph and her married name was Ferguson.
