WW1 Theatre of war: Where?
« on: Wednesday 22 June 22 14:46 BST (UK) »
Working on my ancestor' s WW1 military records, he was in the Cheshire regiment and RASC.
What is this word please, I would like to know where he  was sent.

I included for comparison the place of his home at the time, above the illegible word is the word North Shields.

My grandfather and his brothers-in-law were there.

The Western Front was a 400-plus mile stretch of land weaving through France and Belgium from the Swiss border to the North Sea during the First World War.

Thank you all so much. I did not know him other than through my research and it seems he returned  from service in very poor health.
