Commonwealth War Graves Commission are seeking relatives of Colonel Alfred George Goodenough Elton - Connaught Rangers - died 17/11/1919 -

The private memorial marking the grave of Colonel Elton no longer provides adequate commemoration
The Commission is in the process of producing a headstone to mark his grave.

Son of Alfred Elton, of Shenstone Lodge, Bedford; husband of Alice Maud Elton, of Knole Lodge, Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset.

Alfred George Goodenough 1857 - married 27 June 1911 - aged 54 years - widower.
Melcombe Regis St John, Dorset.

Father Alfred Elton - Spouse Alice Maud Beaumont. Widow.

Born 11 Sep 1851 in Epsom, Merrimack, New Hampshire, United States of America.
Died 1908 at about age 56 in Bedwellty, Monmouthshire, Wales
mother of Gordon Daubeny Gresley Elton.

Son -Gordon was christened on February 7, 1889 at Jullunder, Bengal, India.

Captain in the Royal Irish Fusiliers. Military Cross, Companion, Distinguished Service Order. Killed in Action. He is buried at Duhallow A. D. S. Cemetery, Belgium.
