I think this says Knaggs Head?
« on: Monday 27 June 22 10:42 BST (UK) »
This is a screenshot of a baptism record for Mary Dial (1822; parents Thomas and Margaret). I cannot work out the first part of the Abode (right side box). I think it says Knaggs Head, but I can't find a place of that name in Durham. There is apparently a Nags Head in Durham, but that's quite a way from Easington where the baptism ceremony was performed. It doesn't seem to be the name of a pit as I've checked the Durham Mining Museum records.

If anyone can help me with the correct name and also some background information about the location I'd be very grateful.

Thanks,
            Peter
