Deciphering a document from the war office
« on: Thursday 30 June 22 16:09 BST (UK) »
This is a bit of a big ask. I have been given this document   that I believe belonged to my great Uncle - Albert Sims (not sure why he has spelt his name SiMMs). I can only make out a few words, I wondered if anybody could help.
Thank you

His army papers are on Ancestry: https://www.ancestry.co.uk/imageviewer/collections/1219/images/30600_192984-00410

The letter is the 3rd image.

Basically he's asking for help as he had been out of work for 2 months and had a wife and 4 children to support.

Thank you Shaun, that's brilliant. Can I ask how you found them on Ancestry as I had tried and failed.
Thank you
Tina

On the Ancestry search page, I just put Simms in the "LastName" box, 92223 in the "Keyword" box and checked the "Match all terms exactly" box.
