« on: Saturday 02 July 22 10:09 BST (UK) »
Hello
This is a longshot but I'm hoping some members can help
Im looking for ancestors of Micheal Goulding and Bridget Shea from Glenbeigh they married on 25 January 1913 in Killorglin I need help with placing One of their sons in Carlow in 1952 and in Manmouthshire in 1956 possibly the bedwelty area and I have searched everywhere and can’t find any trace of any of them the other children were  Mary Bridget 31 Jan 1914 Dooks Margaret 30 May 1916 Michael 9 Oct 1917 Bridget 30 Jan 1919 Timothy 23 Sep 1920 all Gowlanes in Glanbehy  Patrick 1923, James 1924, Patrick 1925, Christina 1926,  Thomas Joseph 1927,  and Julia 1927. Any info On the children and marriages so that I can eliminate who stayed in Ireland or even family members in manmouthshire would be greatly welcomed as I have hit a brick wall and have been searching for months
Many Thanks
* I’m sure most of the family stayed in Glenbeigh , it is one of the sons that was definitely in Carlow and Monmouthshire on those dates *

Have you tried to find out if any of the family are on the electoral roll for monmouthshire?  You could try contacting the below and enquire if they can help.

https://www.monmouthshire.gov.uk/elections-voting-and-registration/

Or you could try the Gwent Family History Society

https://gwentfhs.org.uk/

The below link relates to Carlow but whether it will be of any help I couldn't say

https://www.from-ireland.net/county-carlow-genealogy/

Have you tried the below website for any BMD records?

https://www.irishgenealogy.ie/en/irish-records-what-is-available/civil-records

Hopefully other Rootschatters more experienced with Irish records will be able to assist.

For the purposes of elimination, the MonGenes website database doesn't have any entries for this particular Goulding family. There are other Gouldings listed in the Bedwelty area though

It's not entirely clear if you are looking for ancestors or descendants (or both) but we aren't allowed to post details of living people and going by the ages listed some of the younger children could still be living.

You haven’t posted links to 1901 and 1911 census or even said when Michael & Bridget might have been born. Civil registration of births started in 1864 so you should be able to get Bridget's and probably Michael's births (unless he was much older than his wife), Before 1864 you need to search for church record. Many R.C. parish registers free to view here although coverage varies from parish to parish and other records might be on pay sites (to check for more records for a parish click on 'Irish Ancestors' link at bottom of the parish's page).
https://registers.nli.ie/

Although the surname was Goulding for the marriage any later births I found are listed as Goulden and you will probably find other spellings)

Michael Goulding m.(25 Jan.1913 Killorglin, Co.Kerry) Bridget Shea
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1913/09877/5587794.pdf (Michael Goulding’s father is Michael, a farmer, & Bridget’s father is Timothy, also a farmer
1. Mary Bridget (31 Jan.1914 Dooks)

2. Margaret (30 May 1916 Gowlane)

3. Michael (9 Oct.1917 Gowlane)
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1917/01292/1534992.pdf (Golden)
4. Bridget (30 Jan 1919 Gowlane)
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1919/01244/1516878.pdf (Golden)
5. Timothy (23 Sept.1920 Gowlane)
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1920/01196/1497747.pdf (Golden)
6. Patrick (1923). Can’t see death in Ireland for this Patrick
7. James (192*)
8. Patrick (192*)
9. Christina (192*)
10. Thomas Joseph (192*)
11. Julia (192*)

Irish Genealogy will only show certificates for births more than 100 years old and there was at least one other Golden/She couple having children in the area around the same period so are you positive that all the younger children do belong to this same family?

Thanks, Kiltaglassan, for letting me know that I wasted time searching for details I'd already posted  :-\

Isn't that so annoying!

I have asked that the two threads be merged so others are not trapped.

I have yet to understand what the purpose is of asking for identical things on two different threads.  All it does is create double-ups, confusion and leaves  a sour taste.

OK if asking for different things but the threads should be linked as we all know that people go above and beyond and in doing so could find themselves replicating.
