John Jewkes- Tamworth/Staffordshire

I am trying to find out what happened to John Jewkes who is my Great Grandad.

I know the following information:
- His Dad is called Joshua Jewkes.
- His family lived at 21 East Street, Dosthill, Tamworth at the time of his wedding.
- He married Hannah Charlotte Vyse 28th August 1926
- He was recorded as being 20 on his wedding certificate (I have bought this from the GRO)
- He had at least one child called Cyril, who was born on 10th June 1928.
- He divorced Hannah Charlotte at some point before 1950 when she remarried.

I am wondering where he went after his wedding as I can’t find him past that point. It’s interesting to think that we have another branch of family somewhere.

RF died the same year.
I. I. Married also in Lichfield 1950 (same as Hannah. Wonder if they married at the same time)
I can see Hannah on 1939, but none of the children.

No sign of John Jewkes 1906 in 1939.
Hannah is married, not widowed

What was John Jewkes (1906) occupation at marriage?

According to his wedding certificate he was a miner.

Would his daughter’s marriage certificate show whether he was alive and his occupation?

There are a couple of possible second marriages for his daughter.

He may have emigrated.

Just looked at my Grandad’s (Cyril) wedding certificate from 1953 and John’s occupation has become labourer. Cyril passed away in 2010 so I am able to discuss him.

I assume it doesn’t say living, or deceased, for his father.
