Irish baptism location, 1808
« on: Tuesday 05 July 22 18:59 BST (UK) »
Hi, can anyone decipher the name of this town/village? This is from a baptism in 1808 in Republic of Ireland, in the Kildare and Leighlin diocese. :)

Do you have the parish rather than the diocese?

It looks to begin with Rath…

The transcript says it occurs in Borris, Co. Carlow. But on the actual record, Borris isn't listed next to this entry, but this place is instead.

Maybe it's Rathgearan (sic).

Ah, I think you may be correct there! Thanks for your help. The Swords family have been recorded in nearby Borris and Graiguenamanagh, so this would fit in nicely there.

Thanks to all who helped.  :)
