« on: Wednesday 06 July 22 22:21 BST (UK) »
Hi, can anyone help with the occupation of the lad (James Barry, born 1858, Ireland, in Stanley Street, Cardiff) on the second line please. RG10 / 5360 / 139 / 32. The best I can get is 'wire worker' but i can't find that on an old occupations list.

Wire worker. There are several different meanings mentioned in the 1921 classifications codes.which would still apply back in 1871.

Cheers keldon, though i have to say they all sound a bit too 'professional' for a 13 year old with a stick seller and a wood cutter as siblings.
